Rocksteady Hit by Layoffs Amidst Suicide Squad

Rocksteady Studios, the creator of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, announced further layoffs in late 2024, impacting programmers, artists, and testers. This follows September's layoffs, which halved the testing team's size.

The studio has struggled with the game's poor reception and significant financial losses (approximately $200 million, according to Warner Bros.). No further updates are planned for 2025, though servers will remain active.

These cuts weren't isolated to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. Games studio, also experienced layoffs (99 employees) in December.

The game's early access launch exacerbated the situation. Players encountered numerous bugs, server outages, and even a story spoiler. Negative reviews from major gaming publications and a staggering 791% surge in refund requests (per McLuck analytics) further compounded the problems.

Rocksteady's future projects remain unannounced.
