NieR: Automata Resource Management: Farming Dented Plates
While some materials are plentiful in NieR: Automata, the sheer number needed for weapon upgrades can quickly deplete even the most common resources. Dented Plates, a frequently required upgrade component, are no exception. This guide details efficient farming strategies to amass the quantities needed.
Farming Locations for Dented Plates
Dented Plates are commonly dropped by these machine types:
- Small Biped (All Variants)
- Small Flyer (All Variants)
- Small Sphere (All Variants)
These basic enemies are ubiquitous throughout the game. However, relying solely on random encounters and fast travel isn't the most efficient method.
Optimal Farming Spot: Adam's Arena
The most effective location is the arena where you first encounter Adam in the main story.
- Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point.
- Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit.
- Here, machines continuously respawn, with Small Bipeds being the predominant enemy type. Even at lower levels, these enemies offer a decent Dented Plate drop rate. This area is also a good source of Titanium Alloy.
Alternative Farming Locations
If you prefer varied environments, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups usually drop at least one Dented Plate. Exploring the forest also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. It's worth noting that higher-level Bipeds have a greater chance of dropping Dented Plates, so story progression increases both enemy density and drop rates.
Equipment Considerations
Equipping drop-rate boosting plug-in chips significantly improves your yield. Remember to avoid death, as this permanently loses your equipped chips.
