Ever since the announcement of the upcoming DLC for *Lies of P*, titled *Overture*, fans have been buzzing with speculation about the mysteries it might unveil. During the recent Game Developers Conference, IGN uncovered that one mystery fans hoped to solve won’t be addressed in the DLC: the jaw-dropping twist in the base game’s final cutscene.
For those yet to experience the end of *Lies of P*, here's a spoiler-free hint: the concluding cutscene teases potential future directions for the *Lies of P* universe. This twist has sparked intense fan theories about its implications and whether the DLC would offer explanations. However, *Lies of P* director Jiwon Choi has clarified that this particular cutscene isn't connected to the DLC. Choi tantalizingly added, "Please stay tuned for additional announcements in the future."

Neowiz has already confirmed a sequel to *Lies of P*, suggesting that the mysterious cutscene might be setting the stage for *Lies of P 2*. Details about the sequel remain scarce, and Choi was tight-lipped about any forthcoming hints during our conversation.
Choi emphasized Neowiz's commitment to quality, stating, "What I can certainly tell you is when we share such news or media and assets with you, you'll know for sure that we are ready to present it to you. And that follows very our strict focus on quality [amid] all the pressure that we talked about in the past. So that is the one promise that I can share with you, that when we actually share those contents with you and the news, we will be ready to share that with you."

The cutscene in question, the "Dorothy scene", has been detailed here. In brief, it features Paracelsus on a phone call, determinedly saying he will "find her, for sure. Another key of ours: Dorothy." The scene then reveals Dorothy's iconic striped socks and ruby slippers from *The Wizard of Oz*, hinting that the *Lies of P* universe might intersect with other public domain fairy tales. Yet, how and why this connection occurs remains unclear, and we now know it won't be explored in *Overture*.
SPOILERS END HERE.
While *Overture* won't address the final cutscene's mystery, Choi has offered some insights into what the DLC will entail. He encourages fans to replay the base game, as it contains clues about the upcoming content: "When you play through the base game again, you'll see many hints that we scattered throughout the whole experience," Choi explained. "A lot of hints and a lot of windows into the world, and you'll be able to actually see that and experience that in the expansion…There are many things that I actually wanted to accomplish when we were working on the base game. It didn't get put into the base game, and all of that, at least key elements of that are going to be included in the expansion."
Choi also noted that some fans have already pieced together parts of the puzzle, admitting that he regularly reads fan theories online and finds that "some of them are quite close."

Additional details about *Overture* include its estimated playtime of 15-20 hours for experienced players and its availability after reaching a "certain" chapter of the game, accessible until the end. As previously announced, *Overture* is a prequel, with the protagonist traveling back in time to Krat just before its fall. The DLC promises new locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons, though Choi remains tight-lipped about the specifics, saving them for the release.
