Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has confirmed a company restructuring involving staff reductions. Approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce, will be laid off due to financial difficulties.
This restructuring also impacts game development. The next Crysis game, whose development was reportedly paused in Q3 2024, is now indefinitely delayed. Crytek is focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
The company explored reassigning affected staff to other projects, but this proved infeasible despite cost-cutting measures. Crytek assures laid-off employees will receive severance and career support.

Future plans include expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896's content and continuing development of CRYENGINE technology. While the Crysis delay is a setback, Crytek remains positive about its long-term prospects.
