Elden Ring Nightreign Ditches Poisonous Swamps

Fans of From Software's iconic game mechanics might be surprised to learn that the much-discussed poisonous swamps, a hallmark of their titles, will not feature in the upcoming cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*. This revelation came directly from the game's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent conversation with journalists.

While a swamp-like environment did make an appearance in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that this location differs significantly from the traditional poisonous swamps. The decision to exclude these areas stems from the absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his fondness for such challenging terrains. Miyazaki's influence led to the inclusion of swamp locations in *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series, but he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

In other news, *Elden Ring Nightreign* may expand its multiplayer options. While the game has been announced with single-player and three-player modes, the developers initially omitted a two-player mode due to content balancing issues. However, From Software is currently contemplating the addition of this feature, though a definitive decision is pending.

Mark your calendars: *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated title.
