Lies of P's DLC has been fine-tuned to lower enemy difficulty in New Game+ modes while rebalancing stats for certain overworld encounters during initial playthroughs of Overture.
Game director Jiwon Choi initially maintained that Soulslike titles like Lies of P shouldn't feature adjustable difficulty, launching without such options. However, the studio reconsidered, stating: "We aimed to broaden accessibility for more players."
The DLC's challenging "Legendary Stalker" mode sparked significant debate. Controversy grew so intense that the Lies of P subreddit consolidated discussions into a single megathread to manage community feedback. Developers at Neowiz acknowledged certain sections "didn't achieve their designed difficulty curve."
Alongside fixing technical issues – including progression blockers after delivering beer to the Old Fisherman and graphical glitches with specific gear – Neowiz implemented gameplay refinements in patch 1.9.0.0 (launched June 20). The update also allows DLC access from Chapter 5 onward in subsequent playthroughs.
